Thinking about getting a smartwatch so I can use it for navigation as well without having to stop and check maps on phone.
And no, don't want to install a clamp on bike to hold a Navi device.

Anyone using a watch for that purpose?

I like paper maps. They're all foldey and stuff. Just tape one to the sleeve of your jacket. And be careful when wiping your nose. You might add a swamp on your map!

Tiny screen yes, but was more thinking in terms of turn by turn navigation. All it needs it an arrow and the distance.

It seems like a great idea... if there isn't an app for that, someone should develop one, and make xjbikes a million! Profit sharing for everyone!

Another one: put all of our experts on a bus to tour the US and fix our bikes. I'd pay for their service and see them in action. Formula 1 pit stop style. Completely over hauled bike in 2 hours (which includes one hour lunch break)

where I found it tomtom gives you directions to turn right onto a road, which has been abandoned and blocked with bolders just before you have to turn left on the same abandonded road.

maybe your tomtom "bike setting" is to offroad? :)

found this. looks like turn by turn is available, there is a vibration to alert you that direction change is coming up, so thats cool.

Use your phone linked to a blue tooth head set in your helmet. My phone stays in my saddlebag plugged in . Can use it for directions or music.

Yeah, I use marshmallow ear plugs for that.
Was just wondering if anyone used a watch. Wouldn't buy it specifically for that purpose, but thought it would be a cool plus.

The watch is a cool idea but don't you think it would be hard to see with a jacket and gloves on. I personally don't like to ride with out them on.

Oh that's actually a good point. See, haven't been on a bike in months and already begin to forget.
Well, I guess I was just looking for an excuse to buy one and tried to gather all the pros and ignore the cons.

For turn-by-turn I use a bluetooth earpiece. Never have to look away from the road.
