broke down and blew the 20 bucks.

2 hours and it hasn't even loosened the bits of gasket material stuck to the base.
thought it was supposed to eat rubber?
anyway, I'm letting #1 and #4 carbs plus all bowls soak overnight.
got a 0.2mm guitar string, seems to go right into the flat bowl jet.

so- how do you guys get in all the crevises and release the thicker buildup? I have a sonic toothbrush AND a regular one and its not harsh enough.

all the dip seems to do is loosen varnish... doing nothing for thicker deposits, anything in the cracks, and nothing for the float gasket area.

I think I just need a better scrubbing tool.

on a plus- I got my new fusebox installed and wired, and its real solid and my blinkers work better than ever!

I tried lots of methods for soaking my carbs and the only one I had any luck with was boiling them in lemon juice for a few hours. I took an old crock pot and placed them in one at a time. After soaking i used Qtips to get in the crevises and the old paint and junk came right off. I polished them up with wet o dry paper. It was amazing!

You can find large bottles of lemon juice at Walmart for a few bucks. Just don't leave any rubber seals in the carb bodies or they'll be mush.

I don't think bowl gaskets are rubber so much as they are fiber material, but I could be wrong.

    Refreshing your aging memory:

Let them sit for a while, then go at them with the guitar string and see what happens.
