Have eventually sold my XJ650 after rebuilding it and owning for nearly four years. Time to move it on as I'm wanting to replace it with something I can once more do the odd track day on - FZR, GPZ or similar.

Have enjoyed chatting with you all over the last few years and appreciated the wide range of expertise available here. I won't pick out anyone for special mention as everybody chimes in with interesting and useful stuff from time to time and it wouldn't be fair - however, if you use this forum regularly, you'll know the certain people who give of their time and advice freely.

Have learned a lot about these bikes, their foibles - and their CV carbs.

Good luck to all of you who ride, build and generally keep these old Yams on the road.

    With kindest regards,

    Nige W

No, but I will when he collects it next week. Apparently he had one when they were new. I think he plans to run it for a while before putting it back to silver colour scheme.

'ang on a bit Nige, just because the bike will be out of the pic doesn't mean you should be too. The way you talk in your post makes it sound as though you are leaving because of the sale. Don't forget, we have a "Other Motorcycles" on the forum too.
Stick around, you may be able to pass on helpful advice in regards to the one you sold.

    Cheers, Graham

I agree, red matches the Arsenal badge better.

I'll keep my oar in with you guys on here in the "Other Motorcycles" section, certainly - just picked up a 1990 Japanese market Bandit 400 to tool around with (light road/track toy). It needs work but it's got Tockico four-pots, Mikunl flatslides (should be fun to set up!) and a factory stainless full system that looks two (not 22) years old.

will post some pics soon of its current grotty state...
