I'm interested in swapping my stock seat for a solo seat. I'd like to mount a flat luggage box (maybe an ammo can) or rack in the passenger seat space. Plus I'd like to figure out a way to add a short back rest like they sometimes have on crotch rockets. The back rest could go on the side of the ammo can.

I'm fine with making stuff with stock aluminum, and drilling/tapping into the frame, but I can't do welding or other metal fabrication. I figured my options would be:

    - Get a stock pan and somehow cut down the foam to solo size, and bolt the luggage box to the back of the pan

    - Buy some kind of premade solo seat, but I have no idea how to mount it, or where to buy one.

    - Keep my stock seat and build a frame to attach to the grab rail mounts that would go up and over the passenger part of the seat. Probably the easiest for me but I'm worried it might not be sturdy enough.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up. I'll take a look at the auction.

The ammo can would be for some tools, road flares, flashlight, maybe an extra battery tender, stuff like that. I'm planning to use a couple more cans for panniers. I'm hoping to get everything mounted flush so I'll have a flat top to bungee down a travel bag.
