Looking for someones informed opinion on new spark plug wires and plug caps for the 83 SECA 900. I'm sure mine will still work, but the caps have fallen off the ends so many times I'm not sure I trust them anymore.

The caps screw into/onto the wires. If they fall off the wires are stripped out for maybe 3/8" or so internally.

You can't easily replace the original wires if you're using the original coils, they're "molded in."

Try the above remedy, lop about 3/8" inch of each wire and screw the cap back on, being careful not to overtighten and strip out the insides of the wire.

Also check inside the caps and ensure the resistor cores haven't worked loose. There are screwdriver slots on either side of the hole the plug tip goes into; gently snug them up if they're loose.

If the caps are cracked or broken, by all means replace them. The only practical way to replace the wires without replacing the coils as well would be splicing or major surgery on the coils.
