Speedo/odometer issues

    My speedo had been off since I got the bike, 1981 Seca 750. I have learned how to tell speed from watching the tach. The odometer was stuck on 1999.9 since I got the bike. The speedo used to work but was way off. The tripometer worked and I was able to keep track of mileage for oil changes, gas mileage, etc. The tripometer stopped and the speedo stays at 0. What is going on?
