speedo

    was riding today hit about 110 and all of a sudden the speedo went dead and stayed dead
    does anybody know what happened how to fix or what i need to buy and where

    Well first reaction is to think the cable has snapped.
    Put the bike on the centre-stand, disconnect the cable from the back of the speedo, tilt the bike back off the front wheel and then spin it and see if the end of the cable is turning. If not - that's your answer.
    If it is, see if you can stop it with your fingers - you shouldn't be able to.
    Failing that, there's a problem inside the speedometer, and you'll likely have to look for a replacement.

    was snapped at the bottom replaced it and it works great now

    i dont know much about the inside of these gauges
    they came off of another bike and i dont know the actual milage of the bike does anybody know if i can roll back the odometer to zero in some way i would at least like to keep track of how many miles i drive on it

    Why not etch the current odometer reading onto the frame in an inconspicous area (perhaps under the seat),and merely subtract this number from your future odometer readings? This way,you'll know how many miles are "yours".
