I've cleaned an sinced carbs, new plugs and caps.
I've put about 4 hours on it since this was done.
I think it's something new that started on my last ride. It seemed perfect at first.
At idle the tach will bounce about 100 rpm and at 4 or 5 grand you can hear a sporatic miss at the exhaust, no backfire, but noticeable to me. just not PERFECT.
The bike did get alittle rain on it before I rode it home, and noticed the miss.
    What would you check first??
Resync, wrong mixture. or ignition problem?
And what symptoms do you get when coils act up?
Does that sound like anything you've corrected before.

I'll put my money on the 4-5 K miss when wet on electrical. High tension side - coils, wires or caps.

The idle problem may be another symptom, or you could have a mixture/sync issue.

You might have a cracked Spark Plug Cap. A hairline crack you can't see. (Maybe you will -- I wouldn't unless there was a sightseeing flight in it.)

When moisture invades the Cap; it shorts the spark to the nearest place the spark can find. The Head (or any debris in the Cavity surrounding the Plug making Ground contact)

When it does; you get a miss.
When it dries; it goes away.

Snip some sections of Bicycle Inner Tube and make some Test "Sleeves."
Surround the Plug; then reattach the Plug Caps.

If the miss goes away ...
Remove the sleeves one at a time.
If the miss comes-back you've found the culprit. You can coat the Plug Cap with Liquid Electrical Tape, these days.
Before; you'd need a New cap.
