I know this shouldn't be too hard of a descion but for some reason I can't make up my mind. Looking to put in a order with Chacal for some SS brake lines for my red '82 xj650 and can't decide to go with red, black, or clear lines.

Anyone have any pictures of their bikes with SS lines so I could take a look at what they might look like on the bike :)

I've got the clear lines on both bikes. They look very similar to the OE lines only skinnier. I could see the appeal of running colored lines to match your paint, though. I went through my pictures and oddly enough I don't have a good overall picture of the hoses... just close-ups of each end.

Here's two. I really don't see them as all that noticable. Unless you get close you cant tell they're stainless. (These are the black/smoke from chacal.)

I haven't really "focused" on them; but you can clearly see the SS line in this pic (although I painted the banjo fitting low-gloss black.) This is a "black" one from chacal as well.

Thanks all. I think I will end up with the black ones. I was hoping someone might have a pic with the red ones, but not sure I want something that flashy anyways :)

    Thanks for all the pics!

Got it from..who else? Chacal. Straight bolt-up replacement for the stock one. About half what a NEW OEM rotor would cost, if you could even find one for the 550.

I used EBC pads too, since it's their rotor. WORKS GREAT!!!

Once it and the "improved" Yamaha brake on my '81 are fully broken in, I'm going to go out in the boonies and do some stopping distance comparisons.

Never met Chacal personally, but I think he's probably not big enough to be discribed as being a place. ;-)

chacal is our resident parts source and guru. You can find his catalog under "XJ4Ever- Supporting Vendor" in the forums index; he stocks about anything you can imagine that can still be had and a lot that can't, at very competitive prices.
