Starter guide on 85 XJ700X

    I think my buddy broke his guide (or it sounds like it anyway)
    Tranny locked up now.

    I am pretty sure you have to split the cases to replace it or is there a "tricky method"

    I have a great wrenching shop and I plan on flipping it upside down and pulling the oil pan to take a closer look without dropping the engine.

    Has anyone ever done it without splitting the cases?
