Try to turn it over, even with a 50 amp jumper attached, but it struggles to turn the engine. After a turn or two, something just clicks fairly rapidly. Only way to get it started is to roll start it, but the roads are too icy. Any ideas?

If it will bump start the engines not siezed.
Something is binding in the starter.
If you remove the starter does it spin free, does it spin with voltage applied?

On cars start clicky is usually a bad solenoid. Definately test it off the bike though too.

Quick solenoid test.... put somehting metal across the 2 bolts on the solenoid... If it starts normally it's a new solenoid... If not then I'd be moving on to the starter motor

Thanks everyone. I'll take these ideas and try them out.
