I drove the bike to a friends house for 4th of july party, freind was put into hospital for heat exhaustion, but i rode it about a mile to the corner, and it stalled, which was low gas so i turned on the reserve, drove another mile and pulled to the gas station (which is where i was heading when i ran out), i filled up the tank with 93 oct and put the key into the ignition and neutral light came on, clicked the start button and it cliked 1 time and then all lights went out, and the tach bounced rpm's and then went to 0.

so first thing i thought of was the fuse. so pop seat off and notice the original owner had replaced all but 1 of the fuses from the glass inlines with newer standard fuses. so i pulled that fuse and it looked ok, but i broke the fuse holder so trailerd it back to my friends home. go back a week later to repair the fuse and got it fixed, but still not working.

hook up a volt meter to battery and reads 12v with key off, soon as i turn key on it drops to about 5... odd... ok maybe its the battery, since ive had the bike for a year now and havnt had a issue with anything untill now.

so i push start the bike and it started, runs and everything looks ok. so turned it off and parked it for now, went back a week later to drive it to my house and same thing, wouldnt start at all, same light issue, so pushed started it and drove it home, but it does not like lower rpm's (anything under 1500) i would assume its voltage with battery.

So i got it home pulled the battery and topped off levels of with good water and put it on a 24 hour cycle on 2amp float charge, voltage reads just over 13v now, put into the bike and same thing.... headlight super dim. no lights on dash, or if they did work, SUPER dim again, click start button and no lights and rpm's jumped up.. tried the starter solonid trick with screwdrive and same thing, rpms jumped on tach but nothing on motor.

i know the original owner did work to get this bike running and had ran a blue line from a fuse (not sure which one) and run it threw the neck at the seat out the bottom and ran it along the tank and back into the neck where the forks are and leads up into the headlight.

I have not looked at any other wiring because im lost at this point.

any suggestions would be greatly appreicated and i can get pics if you need them , but cant till the morning when there is light obviously....

Time for a new battery and then a charging system check.

so it is a battery issue?

if it is ill yank one off my buddies sea doo and use it to test it out, i just assumed it wasnt cause after i levled out the fluds with the water, and charge it, it took a charge over 13v after sitting a hour after charge..

if thats the case im happy its not a wiring issue.
