Okay...here is the deal. Went through the carbs last week with the help of a buddy who has done his carbs. We were quite careful not to get carb cleaner on the parts that were sensitive to that stuff. Put a reulid kit in, everything went well. Got er back together, had a bear of a time gettting it back on the bike due to the boots.

Got it all back together, fired it up and it ran great. Took her for a spin around the block and it ran like the wind. It felt good to be back in the saddle aftter several weeks of not having a saddle, so to speak. Went out the next day to start it up and it would start with the choke on but would bog down wihtout it. Now I can't even get it to start with the choke on, With the choke on, I would try to give it some throttle and it would bog. The idle is only at about 900RPMS, if that is a huge deal. it just turns over and over. Pulled the number 1 plug and it looks okay.

The bike is getting fuel as I opened a couple of the drain plugs on the carbs and gas came out.

Any suggestions as to the root of the issue? Would some starting spray help?

I'll try to answer any questions as best as possible.

    81 XJ550 btw.
