Wow you are at wits end with that bike. All grounds ok? Did you ohm out the wires from the pick ups to the ignitor unit? Just thinking out loud here.

Grounds are good and clean/secure. How do I ohm out the wires from the pick ups to the ignitor unit? Can you tell me how to test it?

Do you have a multi meter?

Follow the wiring diagram & make sure you have 12v to all the right places.

Yes I have a multimeter, do I just pull all the connections apart and test for power?

Check the wires put meter on RX1 scale and check from the pick up coils (poke the wires) to the ignitor and then from the ignitor to the ignition coils. Check all the way through the connector behind the engine. You are not getting continuity through there some where. With all the stuff you changed it has to be a bad wire somewhere. Thats my thoughts.

Since this is an XJ forum, I assume you have some model of XJ (hint, hint, what bike is this?)...

Since XJ's all have 4 cylinders, you should have two coils and two pickups and two channels to the TCI unit, which gives you two separate systems with low probability of both being bad. So, assuming (having to make a lot of assumptions here) that you don't have spark from either 1/4 or 2/3, there aren't too many places to look - as there are only a few things that will disable both systems.

Check that you do have +12V between the Black wire (ground) and the R/W wire at the TCI unit while cranking.

Check that you don't have ground (continuity to chassis) on the B/W wire of the TCI unit when cranking.

If the first test fails, you have a problem with fuses or the ignition switch.

If the second test fails, you have a problem with the engine stop switch, neutral switch, sidestand switch, or sidestand relay.

If neither test fails, your TCI unit may be just plain bad, or you're unfortunate enough to have two things wrong elsewhere in your system.

    Cheers,
    Paul
