Still not charging

Is there something else I'm missing like a diode?

    I have a 82 XJ750J. It was in a minor accident w/po. The wires got crushed and shorted in the alternator cover, I've since replaced everything there, and it's still not charging the battery. Is there a diode in the headlight bucket that's fried or?. Really appreciate help,the repair manual is worthless.
