you will need to cahnge jets in your carbs. You can get the jets from our local XJ guy. Chacal.

You KNOW the jets in it need to be upped.

If you dont want to wait for New Jets to arrive via Post, ... you can Drill the Jets you have to make them a larger value.

Mixture screws on any carb only control IDLE mixture...they have no effect the moment the throttle plate is opened..

    Rejet as suggested...

    Actually, ...

Our Pilot Mixture Screws DO more than just let the Bike Idle.

The Mixture Screw also supplies: Supplemental Richness

At the Instant the THROTTLES are OPENED there is a rush of Fresh Air introduced to the Combustion Chamber.
    >>Three and a half to four "Rapid Eye-Blinks" in duration.

If the Mixture Screw is not adjusted to allow Fuel to BLEED into this Air Stream ... the Engine DOES NOT smoothly transition OFF IDLE.

Properly Adjusted the Supplementary Fuel lets the Engine not miss a beat.

Too Lean and there is HESITATION awaiting the MAIN JET Supply.

Too Rich and the Engine STUMBLES and Boggs-Out.

Fine Tuning the Pilot Mixture Screw also determines the GROSS Fuel Delivered to the Engine and changes the AIR-FUEL Ratio.

You can find the "Window of Fine Tuning" ... which is within 12-Degrees.
    Probably less.

The Mixture can be adjusted to make the Bike Run:
    <<<[ Critically Lean <> Distructive
<<<<[ Lean <> Hot, Explosive Mixture, Fast, Performance, No Coasting
<<<<<[ 'Normal' <> A fine mixture for performance + Cruising, Coasting
<<<<<<<[ Rich <> Deliberately Tuned Rich for Cooler Running
