A toilet paper roll stuffed with a rag or papertowel fits perfectly in your gas tank filler hole to keep out crap while your doing all the paint prep work and spraying .

Ya know - wrap it in a layer of electrical tape, and this could be a pretty good insulator for those doing the electrolysis method of tank cleaning! Keep the electrode from touching the edges.
    Good idea!

Thats a brilliant idea. When I clean my spare tank I think I'll do that. The electrolysis method works wonderfully by the way, if anyone is thinking about doing it pm me and I'll send you some pics with instructions from when I did mine. Looks brand new inside.

I use that EXTREMELY sticky (wax paper peel-off backed) aluminum furnace tape; it's stickier than duct tape and seems to resist solvents creeping in at the edges.
