More than once I siphoned all the gas out of my seca xj750, removed the tank and fuel is still there. This time...the inquiring mind says miles driven to reserve is not equal to mpg when I refill.

Looking at the tank: there is a hump in the middle (duh) and no bottom equalization tube. Does this seem odd?

Does the gas communicate to both sides of the tank internally or is there enough anticipated sloshing around to allow all gas to feed the reserve tank petcock height? Is there a Yamaha designed equalization issue???

i think we'll have to go with the anticipated sloshing
some bikes do have the halves connected externally, not ours
my bmw has a curved plate inside that makes sure the sloshes go to the fuel pump on the left, but it has no reserve :(
if you should run out, tip the bike to the left before you start walking

Well that's rich!! Maybe I'll start wiggling at the 1st sign sign of fuel starving. Maybe that's why we have the slogan..."I'd rather push my Yamaha any day than ride a Harley"!!!

    Thanks for the heads up.
