    Hate to make another thread, but I suck at reading part diagrams.

    What part number is the o-ring for the crankcase bolt on the left side under the Yamaha emblem?

    85 XJ700

    If you need a picture I'll go and get one. My bike was nice enough to crack that o-ring and poor oil all over my garage floor, just as I was going to take it for someone to look at it

    That would be the main oil gallery plug.
    Part# 41 on the schematic

    Bring the Plug to an ACE Hardware Store.
    Find a VITON O-ring from their selection of Metric O-rings that fits the Plug.

    95-Cents at ACE
    $9.95 or greater at the Yamaha Parts Window.
