    Hey gang, as I've mentioned in this thread: http://www.xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=5142.html I'm doing a charity ride on this Sunday to raise money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. They fund research into treating brain tumors in children - the leading cause of cancer death in kids.

    If anybody would like to sponsor me, I would greatly appreciate it. There's an online donation page so I never have to touch the money with my grubby little fingers. I had originally set my goal at $600, but hit that really quickly so I bumped it to $1k. Since then, of course, I've stalled out a bit. Any little bit would help. Thanks in advance.

    (BTW I ran this by the mods before posting, so I hope it's kosher with you all - it's the last time I'll ask).

    The donation page is here: http://www.firstgiving.com/MarkMatula

    Also, I did a short podcast talking about the ride on my blog: http://ratula.net/eblo/archives/000418.html and I plan to record during the ride as well, so you could watch there for follow-up if you'd like to know how it goes.

    Thanks again, and a special thanks to the Mod. Squad.

    :D

    I didn't get much action on this here, but I figured some of you might be interested in my write-up of the event. http://ratula.net/eblo/archives/000424.html Thanks to those of you who donated!

    1,400 motorcycles + 2,600 riders and passengers + 50 miles of Memory Lane = $1,650 out of $400,050 raised to help the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

    Good times. Check out if there's a ride near you: http://www.pbtfus.org/rideforkids/calendar/ You won't regret it.

    $400,050 / 1,400 bikes = Average of $285.75 per bike.

    Oblivion = $1,650 (5.77x the average!)

    Way to go, Oblivion! Thanks for your efforts in a worthy cause, and the nice write-up you put together.

    Thanks Herb. You know, I hadn't thought to divide it out like that. Considering the top 5 individuals brought in between $10k and $30k EACH, some folks were REALLY slackin'. But again, every bit helps even if a guy just kicks in the $35 minimum, I guess.
