The front end of the bike feels really spongy on my 82 Maxim XJ750. Any suggestions?

I will try that first. Been reading on this and it seems people are also saying to change the fork springs

New fork springs are a common and worthwhile upgrade to these bikes. I believe Chacal can supply them. Manufacturer is Progressive Suspension.

Putting new 15w fork oil to replace old 10W will make a noticeable difference. Easy and cheap to begin with.

Then if you're still not satisfied you may consider new springs.
