My bike doesn't like to run smooth at anything under 2000rpms. Can I synch the carbs with it idling on choke? Gona use either the vacume gauge or the tube method. thanks

Yes, as long as the idle is near the 1050 suggested idle RPM. You can't colortune however. I don't believe it will solve your problem though. It may help but a good carb cleaning is more in line with your symptoms.

While you have the carbs off to clean them you can adjust the sync by eye so the butterfly valves are all set the same. They should be just starting to open past the small hole in the side where the idle mixture screw opens into the bore, then the sync will be almost perfect unless you have some other problems like cracks and leaks in the rubber mounts. If you have even the smallest leak in the intake anywhere around the mount or cracks in the rubber it will throw the sync off and you will never be able to adjust it with the vacuum gauges until the leaks are fixed.
