Figured i'd just start a new thread on this, hoping to spur some input.

Is there a way I could change my digital tach to an analog setup? How much work would it be to make it happen?

Well Hess I don't know what others may have done but the main problem is that even thought the exhaust cam on a 750 has the tach gear the mounting for the cable is not there. So a major drilling of the head would be in order to install the cable mount housing from a 650 with analog to the 750. NOt even sure if it is possible since the housing could be part of the casting.
However it could be possible to machine a 650 head with the housing to fit the 750 setup. I'll let injuneer elaborate on that.

Sounds like a terribly uncommon thing to do, and rightly so.

Being as I'm not a redliner nor do I do any sort of racing, I think I might be able to survive without a tach. I'm going to give that a try for a few days and see how it goes.

    Thanks for the info :D

You might just check out the possiblility of using an analog gauge that requires an electric impulse pickup. They are available from folks like Sun and VDO but cost a bit.
