Hey all! I'm looking to paint my tank but i don't know a whole lot about types of paint. Just wondering if there is a specific type of paint I should be using on the tank that will withstand the occational drop(s) of gas when refilling. I'd hate to have my paint job melt away when I get a little careless at the pump.
    Thanks for you help

My understanding is that rattle can paint isn't really tough enough to resist gasoline. Automotive paints (for spray guns) now days have a hardener available which helps make them more resistant to chemicals. I did notice some rattle can paint designed for brake callipers had a notation of being "chemical resistant" although I have never tried them. There were several colours in gloss finish. Don't take this as a recommendation, only an observation.
