I see forward controls are now available for Maxims on ebay from TC Bros Choppers in Ohio. Has anybody tried these. They look nice and are supposed to be machined from aluminum. Ebay price is $149.00. Sounds like a decent deal if they're at all high quality. Thinking about getting a set but wanted to see how you guys would weigh in first.

I looked at those when I was looking for forward controls also. I noticed they come out just behind the headers and it didn't seem to be far enough forward for my legs to be comfortable. So I made my own mounts that extend beyond the headers instead. I am 5'7" with a short inseam and they fit perfect.
If you have the proper tools, it's just as easy to make the controls instead of paying for them. The hardest part of making them yourself is getting the proper length for the control arms. The best way to attack that problem is to use rods with threaded ends so you cam make adjustments for the levers. I have mini floorboards on mine, but you get an idea how to make the mounts I have:

Nicely done D. Any chance we can get clearer pictures of the joints and pivots?

OK, once I figure out how to use the zoom in part of the camera, I can probably take some close-ups of the controls.
The peddles (brake and shifter) are just arms off some other Yamahas. I basically had to position them to fit my feet and use the proper size bolts for pivot points. >PD<
