    Hi all,

Been awhile since I've been around. Resurrected a EX500R from a salvage yard, and it pulled attention for the last couple of years. That, and life keeps getting in the way of my 750 rebuild. But have a house with heated garage now, so the fun began tonight!

The plan is to completely tear down the Seca and rebuild it. I've had the Seca since summer 2001, and since that summer it's been one problem after another. Just get something fixed, something else goes 20 miles later. The major overhaul was finally precipitated by an ongoing starter clutch problem that just won't go away. It's left the bike sitting for over two years now as none of the simple fixes worked. If I have to pull the engine to fix the s.c. properly, why not just take care of everything and enjoy some miles on this thing?

Nothing too heavy tonight: stripped the body work and tank, and then removed the exhaust system. So far, so good! This is going to be a slow process with no deadlines... want to enjoy every turn of the wrench and overlook nothing.

    Thanks for reading!

    Including pics, per request....

From the look of the collector box, there's an oil leak in the bottom of the engine, somewhere...

i just started my tear down today, got the full front end removed, took the tire off of the rim, got the rim soaking in a tub of solvent, gunna repaint it before i put my new tire on, put the tire i took off the rim onto my honda, it fit like a glove, now no more filling up the tire every few hours while riding!

Been lucky... both my Secas (750s) have come with the fairing. This one didn't have the windscreen, but got even luckier when a NOS screen came up on Ebay. Trouble is, they're so fragile! At some point during this rebuild, I want to use the windscreen to make a mold and see if I can make duplicates. Never know when they'll come in handy!
