When I bought my bike the PO wrote all the things that had recently been replaced/serviced. There was quite a long list as well as his reason for selling - failed his test.

Now, at £350, she was still a cheap bike but wonder what other peoples experiences of buying bikes from auction sites are?

On a "Normal" sale in the UK, if you tell deliberate lies like "New discs and pads fitted" and this is not the case, you can be prosecuted or taken to a small claims court. But I do not know if this applies to ebay. The most annoying thing was adding stuff to his ad that wasn't true. I would have bought it if had just been honest!

I have seen the PO selling another bike, claiming the reason was "It doesn't have a baby seat" and by checking his feedback, I know he's just bought an old FZ600. I wonder how long it will be before he is selling that with some other lame excuse?

Its very hard to buy sight unseen. I always like to look before plunking down hard earned money.

I always figured that if someone is selling anything, beleive at best half of what they say.

I don't really want to "Get him back", I was just frustrated he felt he couldn't tell the truth and wondered if that had been any one elses experience of auction sites!

I bought an ipor touch for 300 dollars, a week later the guy closed his ebay account, never got it, so I got my money back through paypal, and I had his email address he used for paypal, so I let it rip, and he's getting approximately 5000 new emails a day.

On occasion; people sometimes "neglect" to tell you about a problem with something, or photograph a part in such a way as to hide issues like road rash or holes drilled in.

For me it's only been like 1 in 20 so it's simply a case of "buyer beware." I have been outright lied to before, more than once, but it's not often that it happens.
