OMG, that's great....here's the best part. His ad has this sentence...

"---In an effort to reduce motorcycle theft, please buy from licensed parts dealers and dismantlers (like us) only! "

Yeah, right, cause only you have the nerve to sell pieces of s**t like that?

He should add "Not responsible if they fall apart during shipping due to excessive rust"!

I been admonished a few times when I have gone to pick-up parts at a Bone-Yard and said, words to the effect: "I sorry you don't have it, ... I'll try some-other Junk yard."

Only to have the Proprietor say: "Mister, I'm not in the Junk Yard business. This is a Used Parts, Recycling and Salvage Business."

    Fair enough.

The clown offering them ugly Floats on Ebay, ...

Looks to me like he's running a Junk Yard!!!

OK, I've just GOT to know....I'm going to write to him/her and ask the question...I'll let you all know if they write back...not trying to hurt anyone, just having a little fun, we'll see if they take it in the same vein.

The guy was pretty cool...I wrote to him:

Why are you selling something that so deteriorated that they may fall apart just by shipping them? My thought is that you have a lot of good parts, either give them to someone as part of another piece or toss them in the trash. So why are you going to sell them, then end up paying the buyers shipping (both ways) to lets say….Italy when they arrive broken and they file a paypal claim? Is it worth the couple of bucks?

    and he answered:

The pics look worse than they really are but, you're right. They're history

I thanked him for being decent about it...but I guess we'll see if he pulls them.

At least the seller didn't respond with an attitude and when pushed, did the right thing. He probably knew he shouldn't have listed them in the first place and he was honest about the shape they were in "nasty".

I think the guy is ok...he got a little greedy but in the end, he saw what he he was doing.

I see "NOS" Yamaha parts listed all the time for more than what Yamaha is currently asking for the very same still-available item. I often email the seller and let them know that what they're selling is currently still available for less. Sometimes results in a bargain to be had.

But I'm not talking about junk parts.
