A coworker of mine has a friend in Iraq right now. The friend wants some miles put on his Virago and my coworker doesn't have a license, so it falls to me (I grudgingly accepted). So here's the current crop of bikes in the stable right now.

I will admit the Virago is a nice ride, very comfortable, but even with 400 less cc's, I love riding the maxim way more.

Looks like he's trying to open up some jets. Or making sure they're open.

    Hmmmm... I have a little favour. :D

Since you happen to have both the Virago and Maxim right there, can you take some measurements for me? Just to do with parts interchangeability between those two models. If you'd be willing, let me know and I'll pm you the specifics.

sorry for not replying for a while. I forgot to set the option to send me an email when someone replies to my messages. So I had no this topic was being replied to.

Yes, the copper wire was to open the little jet in the bottom of the float bowl. It worked slightly well, but a dunk in my local friendly shop's cleaner tank did a way better job.

MaximumX - unfortunately about 4 hours after posting this pic, the coworker called and another friend who has a license and a garage and is a friend of the serviceman offered to take the bike off my hands. It was a tough fight but he finally wrestled the keys from my hands. I would love to have taken measurements but alas, I cannot now.
