I know there have been previous posts of this but, my tank is lined with a metallic paint. It's chunky, and gasoline is caustic so it caused me carbs to get clogged (which is a work in progress), just wondering how can I flush the tank? Will electrolysis work or is that only for rust? And if I need solvents or chemicals where can I get those?

It sounds like the PO or someone tried to coat the tank before and messed it up.

You should be able to get it out with a paint stripper.

Check out: http://www.kbs-coatings.com/GS-Tank-Sealer-Info.aspx for more info on how to clean out your tank.

This was the system I used to clean, derust and seal the tank on my Seca.
