I bought an 82 Maxim 750 for cheap last year to fix up for my son (so he leaves my rides alone) It only had 12,000 on it and just needed a few things to get going,…..yea, right! So with Len's help, about 9 Benjamin's and countless (but enjoyable) hours she runs good, amazingly good. Couple days ago I got a request from my offspring to ride a bike to work instead of his Jeep. He wanted to take my FZ1 one last time instead of his Maxim. OK fine," take it" as the Max was waiting on some new brake hoses anyways. Well, a co-worker decided to back into his parking space without looking and knocked my precious flat on it's right side! Hey, those frame sliders really do work! Bodywork was untouched but the aftermarket highway peg caught the pavement and broke a piece out of the crankcase casting. %&@#$#! The XJ was saved by the FZ.

too late now but if you have to park among cars, park at the front of the space rather than the back. that way they see it while their looking for a spot

It was in the front, the jeep was jacked so high you couldn't see it in the center mirror. He was in too much of a hurry!
