the secret to handlbar end mirror installation

    i need it....
    im having a hell of a time.
    i got some handlebar end mirrors...

    they arent theses.... but they have the same kind of attaching hardwaere. with the slotted sleeve (2 sleeves) but i cant get the initial grip so the beveled nut on the end pulls in and starts to expand the sleeves out.
    help.... it just sits there and spins.

    grab the slotted part with pliers and snug up the nut unto the slotted part.
    then keep the pliers on it and put it in the bars and tighten it till it grabbs.
    take the pliers off, tap it in the bars and tighten

    push it as tight into the bars as you can or they try to shake

    actually, i have a slightly different method that worked well for me.

    i took the outer sleeve and manually bent the tabs out with pliers until it just barely fit inside the bar end, then i expanded the inner sleeve the same way to match the outer. then put it all together, and insert into the end of the bar. it tightened up easily after i did that!

    i'd also throw some permanent thread lock on the screws in the back of the mirror, as they have been known to vibrate loose.
