Thread-Loc on intake manifold bolts?

    Hey all,

    I'm cleaning up my engine since I have everything off of it, and I took off the manifolds. I cleaned up the head surface, and inspected the o-rings. Thing I'm wondering about, though, is when I pulled the manifolds, it seems like the PO used some thread-loc, or something. The bolts are covered in white stuff. Is it just aluminum oxide? Or do I need to add a dab of thread-loc? It doesn't say anything about it in the manual...

    first go play the lottery, your lucky they came out a lot of people have trouble with them
    you should get new bolts, those are said to be recycled nails :)
    or just clean them up and use never-seize
    no thread lock

    REPLACE THE BOLTS.

    Polock is right, use anti-sieze, not thread locker.

    Listen to the advice about discarding the Original Fasteners for some new ones.

    Ideally, Stainless dressed with an AntiSeize Compound will set yo up for a lifetime of being able to perform maintenance on the Intake Manifolds with NO threat of Galvanic Seizure to the fastener.

    Replacing those Cap Screws with HARDENED hardware, coated with AntiSeize is the least you should do.

    Don't save the Old ones.
    Get rid of them.
