    Hi,

I took apart my carb rack and want to replace the throttle shaft seals.
But they appear hard to find. I read somewhere here that XJ4Ever sells x-rings instead of the genuine seals. XJ4Ever doesn't sell to outside the US, whereas I live in the EU.

The shaft is 8mm and the bore is 11.35mm, which might count as 12 when the engine is hot. The only x-rings I can get here have an inner diameter of 7.60mm and are 2.62mm thick. I'm affraid I compress them too much when I install this size.

Another alternative is this kind of seals. But it is not intended for high vacuüm or pressure. However the genuine seals aren't stiff either. So might this be a decent replacement seal?

    Any other thoughts?

Since when does XJ4Ever not sell outside the US?

Len sells the correct seals, which are an unusual X-ish profile.

Sorry, misunderstood! At several places I read 'cannot (and will not----don't even ask!) be shipped outside of the continental USA'. But this only applies to certain fluids. OK, I'll contact him...

Len's seals work perfectly. I've used then in 3 racks and have not had a problem.

I don't keep track of years but pictures in the gallery show "09" , I really feel old now.
    Their Buna-n, regular o-rings.
Their in there now. I had the carbs off this last winter , just to check them out,
    The o-rings looked good,
The OD is a bit small as Henkies and I measured so these seal on the shaft and back wall of the cavity.
