I have stripped and soda blasted the Hitachi carbs on my XJ650 4K0. I am now getting ready to re-assemble them with eight new throttle shaft seals. Please can anybody tell me which way round the throttle shaft seals go? Does the v-side (split side) go towards the carb body or away from the carb body? I can't find this information on here, even on the 'How To' PDF it doesn't make it clear. I have noted which way round the originals were fitted but just in case they were the wrong way round I would like to be absolutely certain.
    Cheers
    Rob

Thanks Thrasher. That makes sense. Any suction from the carb would tend to cause the V to open and hence form a seal.
    Cheers.
