What is worse - selling your XJ, or selling your XJ and then finding it up on ebay 5 months later and knowing you cannot afford to buy it back?

This is actually the third time it has been sold since I owned it and I was bidding on it when the previous owner withdrew it from auction and sold it for £300. Suddenly - 2 weeks later - its now worth £650!!??

You are supposed to sell it for a high price in the spring and then buy it back for pennies in the fall!

I'll tell you what's worse, at least for me.

Selling your personal excellent custom build bike and seeing it come into your shop unannounced on the back of a wrecker looking for a total loss appraisal. Last time I saw it, it was purty, next time a crumpled mess. Least the new owner was okay.

The chain-drive XJs all had 6 speed gearboxes; the 550 Seca and Maxim are both 6-speeds.
