Looking for suggestions on transporting small items, mostly lunches to work and maybe my leather jacket on possible rainy days. I had a trunk which ended up causing a wheel wobble. Would love saddle bags but out of the budget right now. I know the obvious answer is to wear a backpack. Which is fine but I'd rather have something that sat on the bike. Even if it was mounting the back back to the bike somehow?

Polock -- I like that. Stores flat and low when not in use. How's it mounted. With rope? Any side to side shimmy?

two 1/4 inch steel rods across the bag to hold it flat, or it will conform to the seat. they get zip tied to the bottom of the bag. then zip tie loops around the rod so your not holding the bag, your holding the rod inside the bag, now the zip ties can't pull out.
then some bungees with the hooks cut off.
sometimes it will slide forward when it has a lot in it but never had it move to the side, i just push it back with my a$$. takes about 10 seconds to put it on or off

when I had my xs400 I had the straps of my backpack run through the frame under the seat so that it sat with the "top" of the backpack towards the rear of the bike and the front of the backpack facing up. that was really handy.

but now with the 750 I bring my wife with me a few times a week so I'm back to wearing a backpack for now until I feel like investing in quality storage bags.

Hah this is exactly what I use as well.

Clips great to the grab bars and the hooks are rubber coated so they don't mess anything up

I use the bungie net on my passenger seat too, put my shoulder bag under it and carry lunch in there.
