Hello all: I have 2 questions today.

1.) How does this dew hickey fit in the thinga ma jig..(ignition)...

2.) how worried should I be over this fork..There is a little gash in the tube if you look you can just make it out..That little brass piece slips on the housing and the little round to a point piece sets in the aluminum housing..My problem is I cant get it to come together to screw it to the plastic/aluminum mount..I guess iim asking how does the brass piece work or seat in the aluminum mount..Im sorry if im making this difficult. I know im lacking the terminology (now where is that glossary)..But I admit to not being a lock smith..The bike is coming along great..I wont shoot no more pics of it till it is complete..Thanx to all that has helped me with this project..you will ge tyour just rewards..Ridz Safe Ridz 8)

I can only address the lock cam issue as I don't understand the fork tube question.
I had to make sure I took the lock apart and observe the alignment of the cam assembly that actuates the handlebar lock. It will only work if it is installed in the correct orientation. Make sure you have both ignition switches and lock cylinders in the same position when you remove the cam. If you moved stuff around, your going to have to find a baseline location and work from there. I goofed up my switch and, between my brother and me, it took us half an hour of monkeying around with it to figure out the alignment. It might take you a little while to hit the right combo and can get the assembly to mate up. Make sure you put plenty of good quality high pressure grease in there.
Best I can do with the written word, it's been about two years since I last had one open and I can't remember the details very well.

Problem solved on lock....Question about fork addresses the little cut line in the slider tube on the forks..i wanted to know if I should be worried about the little gash there. If you look real close you can see the cut/cash there..looks like it came from bottoming out on the metal slide..Im guessing....ridz

    Fork:

Slide a crisp, new "Business Card" over the area and see if the edge of the business card "Flicks" or "Binds" or "Hops" over the spot you are are showing us.

If it does. Shoe-shine the spot - out. Use a strip of 800 about 3/4" wide.
Have somebody hold the tube and do the shoe-shine until the scratch or ridge is "Feathered-out" enough not to catch the end of the business card.

    Follow-up the 800 treatment with 1000, 1200, 1500, to shine-up the area.
You'll need compounds to restore mirror finish.

    You're doing Yeoman work, bro.
    I'm exceptionally proud of you.
I hope you get everything dialed-in so good you won't want to park the bike!
