Turn Signal Question...

    Maybe a Noob question, but, will generic aftermarket flasher relays work on a 1982 xj750 Maxim.

    Sort of. You will lose the self-cancelling feature; the Yamaha flasher relay is unique in how it interacts with the canceling unit.

    It CAN be "fixed" however it's an electronics project. I believe someone solved it and posted, you'll have to search.

    Note that if you have one flasher indicator in the instrument cluster, rather than separate left and right ones, and are converting to LED turn signals, you'll need to also add rectifiers at that indicator lamp to keep it from shorting the two sides together and turning your lamps into 4-way flashers.
