We have good used original flashers available, and they are three-terminal design, not four..........are you sure it's the flasher that is bad? Have you checked to make sure that the wiring is proper, and that the bulbs are actually working?

That's an incorrect flasher. Does the plug in terminal, off of the main harness, have receptacles for four terminals? The original connectors has only three places (for the three terminals on the original flashers).

Something's wrong...........both the FLASHER RELAY (3 terminal) and the FLASHER SELF-CANCELLER are located under the tank (6 terminal) are located under the tak, but so are some other relays which do use a 4-terminal connector. What color are the WIRES running to this connector?

Well first let me say that the turn switch is known to have issues when it has not been cleaned in 25+ years. You might want to start off there.

Next the relay, which is located under the fuel tank, needs to be tested. If the relay is bad you can replace with an OEM solution, or go the cheap(and new) route and get an aftermarket relay. This will require that the connectors be swapped around to accomidate the new relay electronics though
