The Avon rear tyre on my FZ750 was cracked on the sidewalls so unlikely to pass the annual inspection (MOT). the corect size is 130/80 R18 by I ordered a newer Michelin 130/70R18 from enbay before I realised it was lower profile.. Will it make a significant difference apart from a slight gearing and ride height effect?

    Cheers

Ride with it. You probably won't notice the minor difference in handling.
Depending on the sidewall profile it might rub the left side of the swingarm a bit. That's pretty much self correcting though.
