    Greetings:

I am planning my build for the winter and I am gathering parts. I am wondering...can I use xs850 risers from an '80 on my xj750 '82? I plan on ditching the 2 piece handlebar setup.

Thanks...I look forward to starting my build thread here.

The 80XS850 risers are mounted in rubber grommets. The posts your bars mount to might be close to the same diameter where they go into the triple tree as the ones on the XS850. You'd have to check them to be sure.

I'd look to see if using the top triple tree off of an 83 XJ750 might be possible as it has a standard 7/8" handlebar.

jbreaithwaite- I would think they will work, just gotta drill the holes to fit, and space it so it will tighten down. I ditched the rubber and solid mounted mine (off a xs400) they don't vibrate at all.
