    Hello All,

My bike only has 8500 miles on it. Do you think I should be concerned with the valve clearance and cam chain adjustment right now. I'm the 3rd owner of this bike,to my knowledge neither has been checked.

    Thanks

I'd check them as a matter of course. You have only the good word of the previous owners to verify the true milage on the odometer. The internals will tell the truth. Check them and settle in your mind if this bike is as untouched as you think it is or is some clapped out piece of headache someone unloaded on unsuspecting you!

The manual says to check the valves every 5000 miles.

I'd do both just for piece of mind.
