I put in my new gasket and it fits perfect but it tends to leak a little at those little half moon spots on the right hand side. I took it off and cleaned the mating surfaces (again). Still a bit weepy. Also leaks a little at the two inner valve cover bolts in the front of the engine.

I am thinking of using some semi drying gasket sealer at the half moon spots -(Yamabond). What does anyone think.

Back to the spring tune up.

    Thanks to all.

Had a few leak's on mine too, All it needed was a thin layer of RTV Silicon (Clear Type)

As for the Cover Bolts, It seem's the Rubber on the affected bolts are torn/damaged so either u'll need to order new ones or u could try pasting a very thin layer of RTV Silicon (Clear) on them too & get away with it, i did on mine ;)

Make sure all surfaces of the gasket as well as the head surfaces are clean from Oil/Dust prior applying RTV or any bonding solutions for that matter, G'luck

Thanks I shall give 'er a try. And yes, the rubber on said bolts is a bit screwy.
