Valve shim replacement

    How is a valve shim reinserted? Do you put it in place and crank over the engine or something else?

    Assuming you pulled your own shims out already... you just do the reverse of that. Dip those bad boys in clean oil, place number side down, shimmy into place and rotate the crank over a few times to really seat 'em down on that bucket.

    a heckuva lot easier that getting them OUT that much I know.

    If they don't settle right in take a moment to examine them. where did you get them? are you certain they are the right diameter? chamfered or no?

    Once they are in a couple gentle full rotations of the crank by hand for each one.

    ONLY IF YOU ARE SURE THEY ARE THE RIGHT SHIMS!!! I had to GENTLY roll the engine to snap them in place...
