valve shims

    Does anyone know where to get some valve shims that wont cost me my first born. (that would be nice sometime but the wife would kill me) Time to adjust valves and these things are hard to find a a decent price. I would be up for some used ones also.
    I need 1 265
    2 270
    2 285

    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Maybe if you tell her the new shims will last "A couple of years!" ... she might let you pop for some new ones. Tell her you're pretty sure somebody will buy your old ones ... so, the bottom line gets lowered and you can sell her on the idea.

    Found the shims here. Have them installed and bike is ready to roll. I had to rebalance the carbs and color tune again. It is amazing how some valve shims of the correct diameter affect everything. I now have my idle jet turned into 3 turns out instead of 4.25. Bike runs pretty good now. Low end lag is definately very minimal now. I just need some warm days to ride now. Thanks for the help on this subject everyone.

    Do the XJ bikes use 25 or 29mm shims? On the website referenced above, the page that lists the shims for XJ models talks about 25mm and 29mm shims on the same page.......?
