for those of you with a maxim, a seca rear wheel is an upgrade, you will run lower rpms for cruising speed, usually around 250 rpms, i need a maxim wheel for my bobber project, It has a bridgestone battle axe with around 1500 miles on it, I would like to trade straight up, and hopefully your tire is ok.

I have a rear tire/rim from a 650 maxim. if you want it, you pay for shipping it is yours. The tire on it is shot.

You are a little far away for a trade...

FYI: My tire has about the same miles. I think its an Avon... I'd have to double check - PO put it on before the sale/CL listing.

I have a new tire on mine, but what real advantage is there to going to the bigger wheel? The XJ motor's happy cruising rpms is around 4k right?

your rpms will drop, relaxed top end, better mpg , it will lift your rear end an inch, and will close that ugly gap in the maxim's rear end. i just need to to drop my bike a little and maybe make my fender a little closer too.

and Im not sure on my seca anymore, havent had a tach or speedo for 1500 miles or so, but my max 700 was around 4500

    schooter,

Depending on how interested others are...

I think my rear rubber is slightly wider than stock. It just barely doesn't rub. I'd have to check the tire size. Wider would probably be better for you.

I'm all for better MPG :)

This is my only bike and I hope to ride some more before TOO cold and hopefully during Dec. in the Toys For Tots ride in Chicago. Maybe I could reuse your box. If we trade we can figure something out :)

Regardless I can look at my tire in the a.m. - I should know what size/brand it is.

I dont know for sure, but on ebay it's 20 or less and there was a thread on aother forum about how people get pissed charging 40 for shipping tires when they've paid as little as 8 to ship a mc rim

i'll get a picture tonight, it's still on my bike

Let's all fight him Thunderdome style!

Two tires roll in, one tire rolls out!

For reference (mine and for this post):

    I have a 130/90-16 M/C 67 V Continental ContGO! rear tire.

So Young Schooter. Who died and made you the expert on the appearance of my Maxim's rear end! And who says my rear end needs lifted an inch!

BTW I too have a rear wheel, no tire you can have for the price of shipping.

I also have the rear drive should you or anyone else want it. Again, free just pay shipping.

    Loren

Go for the cheap deal :)

I don't remeber what I typed, but kinda needed/wanted to toss on your tire and reuse box to ship mine. Then I could keep riding and tinkering . No worries.

At least there is not an X or blue led in the name. Rofl
