ok so my warning light has came on twice... nothing seems wrong and it does turn off, also on the digital disply ( advanced technology back then im sure ) where it would say "STAND" like if your stand was down it says BATTERY and FUEL all the time, even though its a new battery ( 3 weeks old) and has a full tank of gas. any thoughts? and yes it runs fine. maybe some bad wiring somwhere?

    First, if it's a digital display, I'd wager it's an 82.

Second, it's a voltage warning. Stock batteries of the time had a sensor screwed into one of the cells to monitor voltage; the sensor fed that back into the system. I'm wagering your new battery doesn't have that sensor installed, so the BATT warning will be lit all the time. Fortunately, there is a fix.

As for the FUEL warning, check the wires coming from the fuel sender assembly (near the petrooster) and see if maybe one of those broke. Had that happen to me once or twice. Hell, make sure they're plugged into the harness (under the seat near the airbox). If the wires are good, the sender itself might be bad.
