Sold the maxim x today. All my old bikes take up most of my time. Still have little things to do to the rd's. I am down to 5 bikes now. I just did not have the desire to finish the maxim x. When i got the great deal on the 750 night hawk that needs nothing just change the oil and lube the chain not having 20 valves to adjust now only 16 with hydrolic lifters and no radiator to worry about. I plan on getting another xj down the road and going thru the whole bike but have projects that need finishing first.
Lots of great people on here and a fantastic parts dept thanks Len. I will still be watching and adding anything i can to the group. So everyone stay safe and keep the shiny side up

Well down to 3 bikes now sold the gs450 and honda 400. Customizing the nighthawk now. lowered in 2 inches in the back heavier duty shocks. Painted and polished the wheel in the process of polishing the forks and painting the motor. Turning out really well so far, Been a long slow summer had some internal health problems was out of commission over 2 months better now .

That rim looks pretty sweet. What kind of paint did you use?

I used caliper paint the stuff is really tough and brake dust and brake fluid resistant. I even paint motors with it 900 degree paint and much better fluid resistant then engine paint plus it sprays nicer

nice! What's the brand? The factory system, while quiet and powerful, sure isn't light, OR particularly durable IMHO.

I'll do a cursory cost/benefit look into duplicating the factory pipes in stainless as much as possible. Fairly sure it's a non starter. I've already asked a company that makes stainless funnels using flexible manufacturing techniques if they could copy the pipe taper of CLASSIC MC's for resto purposes and I got NO response.
