i have used this method for years in a variety of vehicles to get rid of water from the fuel tanks.

run/drain your fuel tank down to the last bit of fuel (including reserve).
next pour approximatley 250ml of metholated spirits into tank and swirl vigoruously.
completely fill tank with the fuel you normally use and ride.

the metholated spirits acts as a go between for the fuel and the water.
as we all know water and fuel do not mix, but metho and water do and the same for metho and fuel, using this method you blend the fuel and water and burn of the water without any harmful effects and protect your tank.

dont forget to change your fuel filter after this is done.

i do this once a year to rid the system of water and stop the tank from rusting below the fuel tap
